JIUDIWORLD PLANTLIFE: SOLARSOP

SOLARSOP is a flower native to the JIUDI WORLD. Often found in low-wetlands in southern regions of the planet. Renowned for its vibrant, sun-like blooms that glow faintly at night, Solarsop is prized for its oil, which possesses properties similar to sunflower oil you might know from Earth. This oil is rich in nutrients that strengthen hair and promote healthy growth. Additionally, it has notable anti-inflammatory effects, making it a popular remedy for soothing scalp irritations and enhancing overall scalp health. The plant's oil is commonly used in traditional JIUDI hair care rituals and is a key ingredient in our semi-permanent hair colour formulations.

Story

Beyond the city and past the hills in the southern lands, lie the low-wetlands. A beautifully serene environment where water and oil flow seamlessly. Here there is peace, or at least the illusion of it. In this part of the city, where the sun is not blocked out by concrete monstrosities, plants can grow unhindered. And within this unique environment, where light and water and a medically acceptable level of pollution combine, Solarsop grows. One of few flowers that can grow naturally within the confines of the new urban world, it is hardy and beautiful, blooming in the waterways of the upper city. Pollution and light blend, with each flower unfurling during the day, softly glowing as it lights the water around them. At night the flowers curl back into themselves, protecting the petals from the cruel city night. The plants themselves can be ground down into paste, imbibing the consumer with the hardiness and survivability of their namesake. The Solarsop blooms in combination with the difficulties of this new world, only made possible through the artificiality of high society. Ironic then, that its use for the everyday gives strength to those who have none.

Collaboration

We recently teamed up with 3D artist Roxi Basa to bring the plants of JIUDI WORLD to life. Inspired by the key ingredients in our hair colour formula, we collaborated on whismical 3D animations and renders that showcase each fantasy plant. The goal was to help our community better understand the benefits of these ingredients while revealing more fragments of the lore of JIUDI WORLD. Working with Roxi was an absolute pleasure — her boundless imagination and talent really helped us visualize more of the JIUDI fantasy.
